Youth Minister:
Todd Schmidetter
Welcome to Youth @ Trinity. The most important aspect
of out youth program
at Trinity Episcopal Church is our youth. These young
men and women are not
only the future of the church, but they are part of the
church…part of the
present body of Christ! If you or someone you know are
in grades 6-12 then you are
already a part of Youth @ Trinity.
The purpose of our youth ministry at Trinity is
identical with our common
mission statement: "To build up the body of Christ for
the work of the Gospel."
As such we seek to grow in our relationship with God and
each other. We seek
to equip young men and women with a solid biblical
foundation that will carry
them for the rest of their lives as they continue to
develop in relationship
with God and with each other and as they experience all
of life with its joys and sadness.
Our Goals ...
We asked a member of our youth program to give us a list
of things that she
would like to see in our youth ministry, they are:
- Talk about life in general & how to relate to God
- Play games
- Have get-togethers outside of church
- Demonstrate that the church doesn't have to be
like school, it can be fun
& about Jesus
We seek to incorporate these suggestions as part of
our guidelines for
ministering with the youth.
Journey to Adulthood
... Journey to Adulthood is a three tiered curriculum
designed by an
Episcopal Church to be a complete systematic youth
program. Beginning with 6th
graders and continuing through grade 12, the entire
program is implemented within
two years. The first stage is Rite 13, followed by
Journey to Adulthood (J2A)
and then Young Adults in Church. Journey to Adulthood
enables young people to
discover and experience the love of God growing in both
relationship with God
and in relationship with each other.
