New Member & Evangelism Team—It
is difficult to say that one team is “most important” in
a parish, but certainly this is one whose role is
central to being a welcoming and inviting place for
people to visit, worship, and join in fellowship. If
you are outgoing and full of ideas for bringing people
into a parish family, this is the group for you!
Pastoral Care Team, “Trinity
Cares”—A growing number of parishioners help care
for the ill, hospitalized and homebound at Trinity. Lay
Eucharistic Ministers take Communion on a regular basis
to those who cannot attend services at church. This
group advises the clergy on those needing, or desiring,
a pastoral call.
York Place is a therapeutic,
Episcopal Church Home for Children. It is an
alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for boys and
girls ages six to twelve. Trinity annually participates
in Operation School Bus, which helps to provide each
child with a new “first day back to school” outfit and
other necessary items for the children.
Trinity, in cooperation with other
local churches, assists with Mobile Meals. The
mission of Mobile Meals is to provide a balanced meal
five days a week to those in our area who, for whatever
reason, cannot provide for themselves. Volunteers from
Trinity help delivery the meals.
Trinity, along with other area
churches, contributes supplies of food, and financial
resources to Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach, Inc.
so that they can minister to the needs of individuals
and families in times of crisis. Many Parishioners at
Trinity participate in the Annual Golf Tournament in
August that helps to raise funds for Helping Hand.
Myrtle Beach Campground Ministry
is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide
general ministerial services to campground visitors,
residents and employees. Trinity’s assigned campground
is Springmaid Beach.
Trinity helps to support
The
Horry County Shelter Home by parishioners donating
many necessities to the home, such as paper products,
hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and kitchen
supplies.
Trinity participates in
Cursillo.
The work of Cursillo is the work of the Church: to
prepare Christians for their part in fulfilling the
Divine Commission to make disciples of all nations. It
proposes no new theology or spirituality but a method
for personal development of the desire to live an
authentic Christian life in response to one’s baptism.
Trinity is also involved with the
Community Soup Kitchen. Volunteers from Trinity
help serve the food line at the Community Assistance
Center located on Joe White Avenue.
Trinity is a part of the
Reading
Mentorship Ministry. Reading mentors volunteer for
a half hour each week, going into the Myrtle Beach
Elementary School to help a child read. Many Trinity
parishioners have become involved in this outreach
ministry.
The
Episcopal Church Women Welcome You! The ECW is open
to all women at Trinity of whatever age. This group is
part of a wider diocesan and national community of
faithful women involved in their parish at many levels.
The ECW is involved in missions, outreach, hospitality
to the bereaved, homebound visitation and more. Find out
