Helping Hand:
May is one of two
months that Trinity helps provide emergency food aid to
“Helping Hand,” our local church-supported emergency
assistance center. Your help is needed to stock the
pantry at “Helping Hand.” Staple food products are
needed, such as macaroni and cheese, rice, Ramen
noodles, pasta, canned goods, etc. Also needed are
toothbrushes, razors, and small deodorants. Just look
for the “Helping Hand” shopping cart and return your bag
of items so that we can help less-fortunate folks in our
community.

Pastoral Care News: A bi-weekly Bereavement
Support Group will meet next on May 9. The group is led
by Stacey Fontaine, LMSW, of Liberty HomeCare and
Hospice, and is open to anyone experiencing grief,
whether the death was recent or several years ago.
Stacey is assisted by Dana Armstrong, Pastoral Care
Coordinator. If you have any questions, please call
Stacey at 907-4746 or Dana at 602-0794. We look forward
to having you with us.
X Please
Wear Your Name Tags!: Trinity is blessed by
having beautiful name tags that have been cross-stitched
and laminated for long life. Indeed, they will last a
very long time if they just sit in the rack, never being
handled or pinned onto clothing! New members find it
very helpful to put names with faces, and visitors
welcome such an effort on their behalf. As Trinity
attracts more new families and individuals, it is most
important that all parishioners wear their nametags each
Sunday. If you have lost or misplaced your nametag,
please notify Elise Reed. Please…wear your nametag!
X
Men’s Bible Study:
A Bible study for men meets every Thursday at 7:45 a.m.
at Croissants (now located at 38th and
Grissom). All men are welcome and encouraged to bring a
friend too! The group is currently studying the Book of
Hebrews.
X Pastoral
Care at Trinity: It is of greatest importance
that you contact the church if you are ill or in the
hospital. Current privacy laws do not allow the
hospital to contact the clergy or to release names of
patients. The only way that the church will know of
your hospitalization is if you, or a friend or family
member, call the Parish Office to alert us. Thank you
for helping us help you.
X
Diocesan
Couples Conference: When is the last time you
took time out especially for your marriage? The
relationship you have with your spouse effects every
other part of your day to day life. Make a commitment
today to cherish and improve your marriage. The
Diocesan Couples Conference can be one way to live up to
that commitment. Our marriages are based on a promise
to each other, and to God. Only through His help can we
continue to grow in the bond He created especially for
us. This is a great weekend for remembering why you
fell in love, sharing with other godly couples from
different experiences and backgrounds, and rekindling
that old flame. If you would like more information
about the conference, contact Bob and Irene Bell or
Charlie and Amy Jordan. To register, see last month's
Jubilate Deo, or ask Amy Jordan. The 10th annual
Diocesan Couples Conference will be held at beautiful
Saint Christopher Camp and Conference Center on Seabrook
Island August 1-3, 2008. The Rev. Chuck Owens and his
wife Becky will lead a program titled, “Marriage:
Matching + Complementing.” The Couples’ Conference is a
weekend retreat designed to strengthen and renew
Christian marriage. We will have strong Biblical
teaching as well as time for small groups, praise and
worship, fellowship with other Christian couples, and
time to spend with your spouse. There is always
delicious food prepared by Chef Stephen Boyles and his
wonderful staff. It doesn’t matter if you have been
married for less than a month or for more than 50 years;
all couples are encouraged to attend this weekend of
marriage renewal. The cost is only $310 per couple for
the weekend with a $75 deposit. Space is limited so make
reservations today.

Get Ready for “Kingdom Come”:
Our Father in heaven…let your kingdom come, let your
will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:
9–10) New Wine USA’s vision is to see the nation
changed through Christians and churches being filled
with the Spirit, alive with the joy of knowing and
worshipping Jesus Christ, living out his Word, and doing
the works of the kingdom of God. New Wine USA 2008 will
take place June 19-22 and will feature internationally
known author and speaker RT Kendall. Worship will be led
by Vineyard worship leader Eoghan Heaslip. The theme of
this year’s conference is Kingdom Come. The
conference has moved this year to St. Andrew’s Church in
Mount Pleasant. New Wine USA features teaching by
world class speakers, passionate worship, and
spirit-filled ministry. There are a series of keynote
talks on Thursday evening, and two each on Friday and
Saturday. Friday and Saturday also feature seminars,
workshops, and outreach opportunities. Local speakers

Charleston); Tom and Helen Wheeler (Changing Families),
Peter Rothermel (Diocese of South Carolina). Rob Sturdy
(rector, Trinity Church, Myrtle Beach), Mike Clarkson
(rector, Church of Our Saviour, Johns Island). There
are separate areas and programs for youth, children, and
preschoolers. All ages follow the same pattern of
worship, teaching, and ministry. And for the first time,
New Wine will also offer a nursery for children under
age three. For more information and to register, please
